Excerpt: Ben watched him for a moment from a few meters away, knowing he was safely hidden in the low light and pounding music, free to watch Ray. Excerpt: Nights are cold in the mountains, and they’re woefully under-equipped. They don’t even have proper uniforms. It makes it hard to tell who to shoot at, but it also makes it easier to move behind enemy lines.

He hadn’t even wanted to go, as though it were nothing that Dief had led me to him, unconscious and bleeding in that warehouse, white as death on the dirty floor of a back room.

Written for the ds_harlequin challenge, prompt: “Fraser is an international criminal mastermind, moved to Chicago when Canada became a little too dangerous to operate in. RayK is the cop set on finding the evidence to take him down. Whenever they meet, sparks (of various kinds) fly, but how do a criminal and a cop find that elusive happily ever after?” Summary: Fraser is a contract-killer, and Detective Ray Kowalksi needs to stop him before he kills again.
Excerpt: I turned, and there was Ben Fraser in a black leather jacket and jeans, looking a lot like his mug shot, except for the ice-cold blue eyes, the little smile, and the silenced pistol pointed at my head. He was like a tiger at the zoo; so beautiful you almost forget the sharp teeth. “Toss the weapon over here, please,” he said.

Summary: In a Canada very different from the one we know, RCMP soldiers on patrol make a surprising discovery. A/N: Death story. Summary: “His name was Benton Fraser, and he had come to Chicago on the trail of the woman who had betrayed him.”
Fraser and Victoria’s roles are reversed.

It’s a bit mild on the slash, heavy on the purple, and should have warnings re: adult subject matter PLUS I would like to apologize to anyone who might find the religious parts annoying or offensive (it’s an AU set in Italy, late Renaissance – there had to be Christian bits).

Excerpt: I am unsure of how I should begin this journal. I supposed I should begin at the beginning, as my father used to say. My father, a trapper for the Hudson’s Bay Company, was killed in a hunting accident approximately a year ago.

Summary: part 1 – In a Chicago that never was, a lonely Mountie and a young hustler forge an unlikely friendship; part 2 – What we do may have farther reaching affects than we ever dreamed; part 3 – Sometimes “Now” is all you have.
Excerpt: There were times when Ray couldn’t even remember how long he’d known the Mountie; days when it seemed like he’d always been there, with his smile and his offer to buy him something to eat and his stupid stories about the Indians in Canada.
